Findings: Decreased signal in the mesial left temporal lobe (a) with extension into the left insular region (b). Zone of decreased signal involving the right insula (c) as well. Focus of increased signal (d) adjacent to a region of more decreased signal in the inferior left basal ganglia. Effacement of the left Sylvian fissure (e) when compared to the right. Optic tract (opt). Anterior commissure (ac).
